Majapahit Empire as one of the biggest empire in the history of Indonesia offers plenty of heritages that shape the culture in Indonesia especially in Java an Bali.
Throughout the history of Indonesia, Majapahit was mentioned several times as the evidence of how big the influence was. Several kingdoms even use their name as they way to legitimate their power toward people in Java.
Many scripts and relics were discovered and now served as the only things left from Majapahit that can be explored as a memento of how influental and big Majapahit empire was. And through this trip, we will bring you to take a trip down memory lane. Learn some history about Majapahit and immersing the culture left by this Empire.

INTINERARY

• Welcome to Surabaya! We will welcoming you in your preferred pick up point at 09.00 AM (recommended time)
• Candi Wringinlawang (1 hour 15 minutes)

• • • Imposing red brick 50-foot-high gates remaining from a 14th to 15th century. Here, we will bring you to have a closer look and explore the structure of this site that makes historian describe this as a gate rather than a temple
  • Candi Brahu (20 minutes)
    • Once believed to be the crematorium for the deceased king, this red brick temple was built even before Majapahit was existed. As the name suggested, this place is sacred place and still used during Majapahit period. That’s why we will bring you here to explore why theory of this place being the crematorium was mostly false.
  • Museum Majapahit Trowulan (35 minutes)
    • Here we’re going to see and explore the artifacts found around the area. Not only from Majapahit era but also dated back from Singhasari era. Witnessing some wonderful archaeological finds around the museum.

• Candi Bajang Ratu (20 minutes)

• • • Also share the same fate as Wringin Lawang, this site is believed to be the gate leading up to something sacred due to its shape. Here we will bring you around and see the wonderful site that influence architecture in Bali.
  • Candi Tikus (20 minutes)
    • Named after its condition during the excavation, Tikus temple was actually a bathing site for the royal family before doing any ritual or just for a pleasure. We will see during our visit and explore the site.

• Candi Jawi (1 hour)

• • One of the temples that were not built by Majapahit but still vital during their reigning era, this temple was built to honor the last king of Singhasari, Kertanegara -which happens to be the father in law to Majapahit’s first king, Raden Wijaya-. As a temple built for important figure, we will uncover the history and witnessing the ancient wonder.
